Deactivation Policy
ZipFleet Driver Deactivation Policy
This policy describes how drivers may be deactivated and what they can do to dispute activations.
ZipFleet has a three-strikes policy. Each strike can be appealed by emailing drivers@zip-fleet.com and including supporting information. Appeals will be reviewed by the General Manager with company leadership within a reasonable timeframe, typically within five business days after submission.
Driver Performance Areas of Focus
Contractor drivers may receive strikes for various reasons outlined below, which will be documented via email.
Avoidable errors, such as:
- Delivering the wrong order to the wrong customer
- Delivering an incomplete order, where items are left behind at the food service establishment or inside a vehicle, to a customer
- Damaging the customer’s order while in possession of it
- Not following the delivery instructions on the order
Conduct unbecoming, such as:
- Begging, harassing, or hustling for tips
- Using unprofessional language, such as cursing or derogatory slurs
- Making advances toward a customer
- Contacting a customer using company-provided contact information after hours
Scheduling issues, such as:
- Late shift abandonment, the night before morning shifts or the day of day/evening shifts
- Starting shifts late without notice
- Leaving early without notice
- No call, no shows for shifts
- Posting up outside of a hot zone or too far away from order sources for orders to dispatch
Compliance issues, such as:
- Not taking photos of receipts/bags/packaging at pickup
- Not taking photos of deliveries on dropoff
- Wearing unprofessional and unapproved attire
- Engaging in illegal activities
- Driving an unsafe vehicle
- Driving without a license or insurance
- Note that being out of compliance with GigSafe is different, and that will result in an immediate but temporary deactivation. You will be reactivated as soon as GigSafe verifies your documents!
- Allowing someone other than the onboarded contractor to perform deliveries on your account
By self-scheduling for shifts, you agree that you are aware of this policy, how to appeal strikes, and understand that repeated violations will lead to deactivation.
ZipFleet may update this policy occasionally and notify active contracts about updates in writing using email and/or text messages.
